Ratah Timber https://conserva.unmuhbabel.ac.id/index.php/conserva/article/view/202
Indonesia as a mega-biodiversity country which is the important value for avian conservation in the world. However, negative issues from activities that causes degradation and forest loss such as logging and land conversion into plantation have been considered a factor in population decline indeed for extinction of a species. The Storm’s Stork (Ciconia stormii, Blastur 1896) is a large water bird that felt the impact so the species is classified as endangered in the Red List of IUCN. The first recorded for the Storm’s Stork in Indonesia’s production forest (PBPH-HA) discovered in PT. Ratah Timber. This is a good news for avian conservation in the world, especially for Indonesia. The records are three individuals in a nest on the RKT block 2019 forest. The nest on banggeris tree (Koompassia excelsa) which is protected by management so banggeris is not included list of logged tree. The Storm’s Stork is extremely secretive so they require habitat characteristics that is primary forest, heavy canopy cover, distance from noisely and nuisance. Therefore, presence of the Storm’s Stork indicated logging activity in PBPH PT. Ratah Timber has implemented and committed for sustainablity forest production management especially for conservation and environmental aspects.
Keywords: ciconia stormii; conservation; production forest; ratah timber; storm’s stork
Bantista Adies Kuncahyo, Irfan Harirustaman, Sri Wahyudi, Ghalibia Alita Copyright (c) 2024 CONSERVA https://conserva.unmuhbabel.ac.id/index.php/conserva/article/view/202 Mon, 01 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Peran Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam Hutan terhadap Tujuan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) https://conserva.unmuhbabel.ac.id/index.php/conserva/article/view/203
Oktavia Prasetyaningtyas, Trimurtini Trimurtini Copyright (c) 2024 CONSERVA https://conserva.unmuhbabel.ac.id/index.php/conserva/article/view/203 Mon, 01 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0800 A Wide Survey To Assess Population Of Long-Tailed Macaque Macaca Fascicularis (Primates: Cercopithecidae) In Lowland Region Of South Sumatra https://conserva.unmuhbabel.ac.id/index.php/conserva/article/view/204
The Long-tailed Macaque Macaca fascicularis is an Endagered primate because species' population decline very rapidly due to high levels of hunting for trade. A survey to collect data on the M. fascicularis population was carried out in the lowland areas of South Sumatra Province on 7 September-16 October 2023. This survey was carried out in 17 sites in four main districts/cities, including Palembang, Musi Banyuasin, Banyuasin and Ogan Ilir. This survey was recorded 4,316 individuals of M. fascicularis. This number suggest that M. fascicularis has good population number and still commonly found at the survey sites. Based on the survey coverage of the survey area and the total number of ??the lowlands in South Sumatra, we estimate the population of M. fascicularis in the lowlands in this province to be around 300,000 individuals. Further surveys are needed to determine the exact number of M. fascicularis populations in South Sumatra Province.
Muhammad Iqbal, Arum Setiawan, Pormansyah, Winda Indriati, Guntur Pragustiandi, Melto Sevli, Putri Rizki Pratiwi, Risma Handayani, Indra Yustian Copyright (c) 2024 CONSERVA https://conserva.unmuhbabel.ac.id/index.php/conserva/article/view/204 Mon, 01 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Identifikasi Tumbuhan Obat Yang Terdapat Di Kebun Raya Purwodadi Pasuruan https://conserva.unmuhbabel.ac.id/index.php/conserva/article/view/200
Dewi Ambarwati, Denta Ratna Nugraheni, Inayatul Fadiyah, Nyaring Sember Inggawana Copyright (c) 2024 CONSERVA https://conserva.unmuhbabel.ac.id/index.php/conserva/article/view/200 Mon, 01 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0800 Potential of Marine Macroalgae in Stabilizing Bio-Fabricated Nanoparticles for Photodegradation Application: A Review https://conserva.unmuhbabel.ac.id/index.php/conserva/article/view/205
Marine macroalgae, or seaweeds, have emerged as promising sources for the green synthesis and stabilization of nanoparticles, offering remarkable potential in photodegradation processes. These abundant and renewable resources harbor a diverse array of bioactive compounds, including polysaccharides, proteins, flavonoid, and pigments, which can act as reducing, capping, and stabilizing agents. The integration of macroalgae-derived stabilizing agents into nanoparticle synthesis confers unique properties, enhancing photocatalytic performance and stability. This review comprehensively examines the role of marine macroalgae as stabilizing agents for bio-fabricated nanoparticles in photodegradation applications in particular for toxic azo dye degradation and organic compounds. It explores into the mechanisms of nanoparticle synthesis and stabilization, explores the diverse macroalgal species employed, and evaluates their photocatalytic efficiency against various organic and inorganic pollutants in wastewater. Furthermore, the review critically analyzes the challenges and future perspectives in this field, offering insights into the development of green, sustainable, and efficient remediation strategies for environmental contaminants.
Ramadhani Ramadhani, Ahmad Said Copyright (c) 2024 CONSERVA https://conserva.unmuhbabel.ac.id/index.php/conserva/article/view/205 Mon, 01 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0800
